Creating a Training System in ClickUp
I worked with the CEO of Turtle Island Community Capital to create SOPs and checklists and set up ClickUp to keep his organization running smoothly as they scale.
“Everything lives in my head!”
Alexander “Brave Journey” Sterling runs a fledgling nonprofit called Turtle Island Community Capital, which offers financial services to Native-led projects, particularly in the green energy space.
Alex has a fast-growing team. In order to train, he needed to document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and make the most of his ClickUp subscription.
Cleaning up ClickUp
Alex generated definitive SOP documents in our Google Drive, so that I had the information and could translate them into ClickUp tasks, documents, and checklists. Now the key information exists in the same place where the work is tracked.
I set up ClickUp, so that now we use tags, assignments, subtasks, etc.
Building in Reminders
I created ongoing tasks to track maintenance-level activities and make built-in reminders for folks to do things like give their input for team meetings or update SOPs they own.

Mapping Systems

As the team grows, there is now a culture in place for use of the project management tool (ClickUp), training documents, and a place to map each role. This will help new staff get familiar with the organization, and serve as a place to visually analyze the existing processes as they evolve in the future.
