Human-Centered Design meets Systems and Management.
Over my 20ish year career, I’ve worked in small startups, huge corporations, nonprofits, with toddlers (what a learning experience!). My roles have been varied, including as a User Experience Designer, team leadership, and program coordination.
Everywhere I’ve been, I’ve changed and developed systems (sometimes while lying awake at night!) because I’m an optimizer. It’s just what my brain does.
Accompishments
Here are a few highlights:
Service Design
Clover Food Lab.
Redesigned the breakfast sandwich assembly system in a fast-growing restaurant startup, bringing my location ahead of all the others in serving-time speed.
User Experience Design
Out in Tech. Blip Energy. Willdan Energy Services.
Working with a nonprofit, a startup, and a large company, I researched event-coordination platforms, designed websites, and designed an app that reduced the objective’s failure rate from 20% to less than 5%.
Program Coordination
AmeriCorps VISTA.
Designed a scheduling system to share space among 7 nonprofits in 1 community center.
Project Management System
Turtle Island Community Capital.
Audited existing systems, and designed a system of templates and SOPs in ClickUp.
Employee Experience
Clover Food Lab.
Identified gaps in onboarding, and drafted an employee handbook.
System Design
School of HONK.
Created an Airtable database to track feedback, and a wiki to manage volunteer education and best practices.
